New laptop - MS products

My (not so) old laptop has problems charging, so I replaced it.  Managed to transfer all files (45K+ photos) without problems.

I use MS Publisher a lot for the articles & orchid care guides I write, and have hundreds of files, which need updating from time to time.  On the retired laptop, it was part of the Office package.  On the new laptop the MS office package only has Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

I purchased MS Publisher (2003 version) separately years ago (2003 version), and still have the disc & product key.  However, there is no disc drive in my new laptop.

Solutions??

If you have another computer with an optical disk, you can copy the disk to a USB flash drive and install it from the flash drive.

Or you can buy a disc drive that connects to your laptop via USB, about 25 bucks.

Or, you can try downloading it from cnet.com, though I'd be surprised if this still works.

get an external drive and plug it in

I’ve often wondered if the publisher would provide a current solution if the original is returned.   There’s no copyright problem.`  worth asking the question of MS or hardware mfr.
