Hi. I just posted this recommendation in my own thread re: Elite Chimney closing down.
I highly recommend Allen Chimneys, LLC. The owner is the one who came to my house, Theron Allen. He's a super nice guy and said "I fear no chimney!" (That, after I told him another sweep company charged me for video and cleaning and left saying we should not have fires but never provided any sort of solution, even after several followup requests.)
He's going to use a heavy-duty sort of whack-cleaner from the roof down to get rid of the buildup of creosote. This will smash of the already cracked and gapped tile liner we have so he'll also install an insulated stainless steel liner for the fireplace and another for the water heater.

We have a persistent leak in the wall of our master bedroom which we thought we’d gotten to the bottom of (so much so that we went ahead and hired painters - whoops!) Now the same wall damage has started to reappear among the new paint and we seem to have traced it to our chimney, which apparently has a gap and so needs to be sealed and possibly have the masonry re-done. Can anyone recommend someone?
Much thanks in advance -
Alex
