Name the date that Christie ends his campaign

I'm going with October 1. Who's in? Closest to the date....I'll buy a drink!

What campaign?

but would go with October 9th,

Hmm, good question. Next debate is October 28th - this is the only time people will hear what he's saying. I think he'll sit back wait for others to drop. Then he'll yell at someone which will get a lot of press and a bump. If he yells about Trump and Carson - this will help. So with this strategy - he can last to the debate - if he's still at 1-2% on November 5th he'll bow out on the 6th.

Personally, I'm hoping for another revelation to pop up before then (and we all know there's more waiting to come out). He needs a (figurative) slap-down after getting on a high horse to lecture Trump and Fiorina on the need to "grow up" during the last "debate."

I'd honestly like to see a literal slap-down. Maybe Rubio can bean him with a football.

I'll go with February 9th.

On February 9th, 1891 the first shipment of asparagus arrived in San Francisco from Sacramento. I suspect that over time, both events will have the same level of remembrance in the public mind.

Although asparagus is more likable.

They both make my pee smell funny.

Thanksgiving

Possibly never...

As Mulshine notes, he doesn't allow contrary opinions. Add his tenuous grip on his actual situation, and it could be a long time before he runs out of cash forcing him to quit.

Of the five (?) investigations into his actions, the one that could actually sink him is David Samson's. Christie still claims him as a friend and says we shouldn't read the paper because we might find out what's going on. Unfortunately, Christie had the bad sense to personally attend a meeting with recently deposed United CEO Jeff Smisek that quickly resulted in the "chairman's flight" and a flood of United cash to Christie. All that's needed is proof the guv asked for stuff or United felt they needed to kick in to get business and we have a Christie indictment or 10.

I would put his definitive withdrawal as the wrap of Fishman's Samson inquest, but it seems that could go for some time.

And now it's time to watch Trump on Colbert

Unless he runs out of money, I think he's in until New Hampshire. Feb 10th.

That's my thinking. and then he'll wait a few days to make the announcement. Like on a Friday at 6pm, hoping no one is paying attention.

Sorry, he is just too pigheaded. He will still running by the time of the GOP convention.

I lean in this direction too.

^This

While AWOL as governor, he spent his time campaigning for the Republican Party throughout the US. He's probably expecting some funds to let him hang on till then unless, these stories are resurrected.

GAAAAH!!

Double GAAAH! Seriously though, should Trump win the nomination, he will have to choose someone from outside the northeast.

Phew! You're right. I'll stop hyperventilating now.

This video was just released - sounds like he's really turning up the DRAMAtic music.

I guessed next week as his drop out date. But, I think many of them are waiting in the wings for Trump and Carson's eventual fall from the spotlight. Though most of the talking heads believe it will be Rubio who will pull in front.

Here's one from last week:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5BNNGVCZC4

One guys complains about congress that they're off doing they're own thing after getting elected. Sorta like campaigning the past two years while your a sitting governor of a state.

Can you believe that Carson is now the leading Republican...the day after he said he'd outlaw all abortions, including rape victims? And he told the world that the victims in the last school shooting should have fought back? And those are some of the saner things he's said.

Not to mention that the Holocaust wouldn't have happened if everyone was armed.

Here's a few more:

1. “You know Obamacare is really I think the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery. And it is in a way, it is slavery in a way, because it is making all of us subservient to the government, and it was never about health care. It was about control.”

2. “Well, my thoughts are that marriage is between a man and a woman. It’s a well-established, fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality. It doesn’t matter what they are. They don’t get to change the definition.”

3. “There comes a time when people with values simply have to stand up. Think about Nazi Germany. Most of those people did not believe in what Hitler was doing. But did they speak up? Did they stand up for what they believe in? They did not, and you saw what happened.”

4. “Because 9/11 is an isolated incident. Things that are isolated issues as opposed to things that fundamentally change the United Sates of America and shift power from the people to the government. That is a huge shift. You have to take a long-term look at something that fundamentally changes the power structure of America.” [while claiming that Obamacare is worse than 9/11]

5. “A lot of people who go into prison straight, and when they come out they’re gay.”

Republicans - this is you top runner?

Hillary will take this bozo apart if he gets the nomination. It's always tough to know who to root for, the scary bozo who, if elected, would be a disaster, or the more moderate candidate, who might have a better chance at knocking HRC off.

Christie has the kind of ego that will have him saying for years, most likely when he transitions to a gig on FOX, "if I had been President..."

Not sure how long he will last, but for sure he is doing everything in his power to destroy any good feelings anyone in New Jersey may have once held for him. Even my right wing GOP friends are shaking their heads over his latest lunacy--attacking Black Lives Matter by saying they are advocating killing cops. Where once he might have wound up with a NJ Supreme Court appointment from a future GOP governor, or maybe even an ambassadorship or high level DOJ position from a future GOP president, now he would not even get support for Morris County Freeloader. I hope Mary Pat can go back to her high paying job on Wall Street because otherwise he is all but unemployable after this campaign performance.

Christie should have stuck with who he appeared to be before he tried to appear to be Ben Carson. Because when Carson and Trump and Bush fade all that will be left standing will be Rubio and Cruz. Had Christie not tried to go tin foil hat crazy--which, by the way, he does not do very convincingly or well--he well might have given Rubio a run for whatever passes as the "moderate GOP" candidate these days.

(eta) Maybe he can do a Pirro-ette and snag a Fox talking head gig, but so far I have not seen that Ailes has been all that sweet on the Governor.

Like we used to say in the movie business: he'll go indeprod. He's a lawyer, he can go back into private practice or even be a lobbyist.

What puzzles me most is the people who are still throwing money at him. He's (as are others) using other people's money for an ego trip, when he has absolutely no chance whatsoever being elected dogcatcher. When they stop throwing money his way, he'll stop running.

What could his game plan possibly be?

Already you can't read a paragraph in a news story with the word "Christie" without also reading the word "bridgegate." And Super Tuesday will come right in the middle of pretrial motions.
