My iPad 2 has died. Can it be resurrected?

It's been a long slow death. The touch screen slowly became less and less responsive, etc. Now it won't boot up. Can it be repaired?

Thx.

I got the thing started. Held the power and home buttons for 10 seconds and it came back on. I guess it's a sign that my battery is on it's last legs. Or something.

Skip the newer updates. They overwhelm and slow down older models.

my father just had his iPad gen 2 battery replaced at the Device Shop in Westfield. $80 - $10 off coupon. Says it's running as good as new. Probably worth it because I'd bet you could sell it for $150-200 repaired.

I have the same problem -- Apple genius bar told me I had too many pictures on the device. I said I have not even used half of the available memory. When I tried to backup on to the laptop, it would not recognize the device.

IPAD is a great device for some stuff, but not for storing pictures or anything you want to keep long term. And they do not offer a way to put on a memory card.
