Music that lifts you up

Although I'm seeing shares of Boccelli's Amazing Grace, and I'm a big fan of both the man and the song, I remembered this version which I used to say was the song I wanted friends to play when I left the planet. I had heard the bagpipe version driving through Scotland on one of those roads in the middle of nowhere when the only sign of a human would be one that said Loose Chippings.

Anyway, this is the version that makes my heart soar.

This seems appropriate for the thread title:

Nice! I tried that earlier in the thread with Beth Hart "Lifts Me Up." Great minds...  ;-)

OK if we are  going for a theme how's this?

Heartbreakingly beautiful.

Well if anything, last nights “one world together at home” performances settled the Beatles vs Stones controversy once and for all!

How many Beatles were able to make it?

Morganna - Thank you for that wonderful performance from last night. It brought me to tears.

Something about music. I always think I'm handling everything. Roll up my sleeves, handle the problem, no time for teardrops and then I hear a song out of the blue and I'm sobbing.

The world singing from balconies, serenading each other online, and coming together in one universal choir is a song of hope.

It is impossible not to be moved to tears.

Two versions of Águas de Março/Waters of March. It melts away my anxiety and my heart rate goes down.

Goodbye - The Pretenders. Love the song, love the movie.

Try this, from The Maplewood Glee Club, just released

 Thank you! This is lovely!

Watched a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughn with clips of his performances. I immediately ordered a CD of his greatest hits.

Transported, made me sad that he's gone.

That voice, that guitar, it made me want a time machine.

The fiddlers of Childs Play, watching them on All Arts. For those who haven't heard them here is a sample.

In defense of the "plant thing"! I used this in fashion show I did for my costume designs. Go 2+ minutes in for the real Indian sound.

Because I love all things Stevie and because I love India.

I also love Stevie, all things India (semi-obsessed), as well as birdwatching and cats. I think we were separated at birth

Also this toe-tapper guy Pokey LaFarge and his amazing band (who I only recently stumbled upon).

He is only 37 but I think he has been transported form the 1930s. Cracks me up:

Is he from New Orleans, or has he played Jazz Fest ever?  I lived there for a short time in the mid 90s and think he was a staple at those festivals, though I never saw him.  Based on my tastes now, I think I missed out because I dig him and just bought a guitar like this recently.

These women got me through the Pandemic, though I don't listen to them as much these days.

I got into an Eva Cassidy thing recently, not even knowing that she died long ago at a young age.  Here just her and guitar doing live performance of Over the Rainbow.  Magnificent.

That's pretty and very pure.

he was the best guitar player I ever saw in person. And nobody else is close.

This one popped up in my Playlist yesterday.

Have you travelled there? Its been a long time but it was lovely. You might like this singer's music. I had it on vinyl. Best thing about living in the Village was the music store filled with LPs from the Folkways collections. Always found buried treasure there.

Lordy, the bass player in Let the Sunshine In is on some other planet. (Joe Osborn I believe.)
