thank you, robert!  i am sorry to say, but i actually don't live in maplewood.

You can call anyway.   Like i said, i do not test for mold or do remediation.   But i do find that what i think of as common sense can be a big help.   i am not talking about homes that had heavy flooding, but only about the usual situations most of us encounter.

There are a lot of shady actors in the mold industry.  I did mold remediation work for about 4 years but still hold the certifications.  The company I worked for did not do the testing but relied solely on third party industrial hygienists in order to be objective.  They are not cheap, and you should understand that if you do have a problem and hire a company to remediate, you should also have post- testing.  All of that said there is a lot of unnecessary fear about mold.  It is very possible that you don't need any professional remediation.  If you'd like more advice PM me your name and number.  Again, I don't do this work anymore but would be happy to talk about it.  Mike.

You can buy self-testing kits at Home Depot, maybe to give you some idea of where you stand.  However, I don't think these are good replacements for professional testing.

to add, friends in Houston Are using this (by the gallon of course), it's safe and totally kills mold unlike bleach, say.  Still will need to use bleach afterwards to remove the stain
