Mens clothing

Sams men clothing store in Livingston was my favorite local mens clothing shop. Unfortunately, the store closed when the owner retired.

Does anyone recommend any other mens shops in the area or are mall department stores my only option in NJ?

I think the mall stores, including Brooks Brothers, are a good option this time of year as they have sales. There are also outlets such as Saks.

I know a few people who enjoy going to Philly once a year to visit the old Boyds clothing store. It's the kind of place where they have your measurements on file, give you coffee, but it's pricey.

How about "Men's Warehouse"?

And ask why you’re carrying a trunk in your back pants pocket.

the Joseph A Banks chain has medium quality suits etc. at medium prices, and they have a lot of sales.  There is one in Summit.

Hubby has to wear suits every day but does not have a high profile job so they work for him.  He does like Brooks Brothers better for shirts, but frankly doesn’t want to spend their prices on suits even though they are better quality.

Nordstrom's in Short Hills Mall probably is doing their half yearly men's sale right about now.

Todd Shelton - made to order, made in America. East Rutherford, NJ. Worth every penny.

Men's wearhouse and Jos A Banks are both the same company.

Tom James, Inc does custom made to measure suits, etc.  Their reps will come to you with samples, pictures, etc.  They have three different price points in terms of quality but only worth it if you buy several suits to get the discounts.

George Dente used to have his own shop in Montclair.  I ran into him working in Nordstrom’s about 10 years ago. That’s where I would try (if I was still in the market) first, if he was still there. Sale would be a bonus.
