Maplewood Seniors Advisory Committee will be there, showcasing the art work of local seniors.  Look for us by the former Lorena's Location (Now Tandoori Chef II.

I don't know or care if you got permission to block off Maplewood village, it just is inconvenient, and it is possibly dangerous.  It's not only a driving annoyance, it could be a possible fire problem if there were a fire emergency, regardless of the permission status.  Memorial Park has an amphitheater for a reason.  May I suggest the next fest be held there as the Maplewoodstock fest is.  Maplewood village is already overly congested as is.

In addition, I get annoyed when the parking spaces on Lenox Place north side are removed on Sunday morning during church hours.  There is plenty of free parking in the commuter lot which is even closer.

I was impressed with the band Sheik's Garage.    Do they have a regular local gig, like a bar?

It was a perfect day to stroll the Village, and take in the art and the music and just chat with people there. Thanks to the organizers!

If it is truly dangerous (and I'm not knowledgeable to know one way or the other) then the permit should not be granted.  Since it was granted, I assume that there are alternate routes deemed acceptable by the Fire Departments.  But, if not, perhaps you should appeal to the town office that deals with permits and/or the Fire Department.

Thinking on it, a police or first aid emergency could be handled during an event that closes off the village. A fire emergency..... that could present a hindrance to response during such an event. Moving one or several large trucks through the pop up tents... or requiring fire trucks to detour around the village to attend an emergency at a surrounding street. That could cost two or three minutes in response time.

Crowds: People would have sense to move out of the way.

It does deserve a bit of thought, especially since the park is an alternative.

On Saturday there was “walk this way” in the park. I checked it out around 11 am and there were a few people there. The chairs in front of town hall were being set up, and there was a nip in the air…it’s good to walk around town every so often. I miss the days of Saturday mornings in front of the old post office and the bank, where people always had something going on.
