Mailboxes At PNC Bank Next The ATM

I’m not sure where this belongs? I was shocked when I walk on Academy Street today
by The PNC Bank and the mailboxes next to the ATM on Academy Street where gone.
Please does anyone if they are going to put the mailboxes back next to the PNC
ATM on Academy Street? I dearly hope they are going to put the mailboxes back. That
is where I mail my mail.

Nationwide the post office is removing boxes not by post offices. They are encouraging people to leave outgoing mail for their postal carrier.

True. I don't know if Mickey can do that.

you mean they want me to leave my mail in my mailbox at home for the carrier to take? That is hardly a secure thing to do.

Yes that is what they want. I do it. Not secure but it is a Federal crime if anyone takes anything.

I remember putting the little metal flag up on our mailbox to let the mailman (70s language yes) know there was mail to pick up. Because we didn't receive mail every day (not nearly as much junk back then).

If I stop by the post office later I will ask.

I clip outgoing letters to my mailbox all of the time.

We clip 95% of our mail to our mailbox. Never had a problem.

The issue might be that some people living near that mailbox are in apartments and may not have the front porch/yard-type of boxes which enable the resident to leave something.

I used to try to leave mail for the carrier....he wouldn't take it....but that was a while ago...I hardly ever mail anything now..

i would think in apartments, you can still leave mail in the box for the mailman to take...
