Lorena's is moving into the former Cassidy space!

I confess that I really do like it when quiet is on the menu which can be tough to find in a place that also has great food.

The appeal of Lorena's for me was the intimate setting, BYOB, and great food.  Two out of three may change with the new location. It will be interesting to see how they will scale up into the new space.

Yup, I hope they somehow retain this, because Lorena's is/was great. Cassidy was more or less the opposite of an intimate setting. But they may re-configure it.

The one time I ate at the Cassidy I found it way too loud, it will be interesting to see how they alter the setting to combat that.

I will miss drinks with the Hubbie at Cassidy.

The landlord owns the liquor license.

Are you talking about the Cassidy? Or Luna Stella?

I was talking about The Cassidy, but it's true for both.

I hope they at least serve Heinz Ketchupcheese

I liked having drinks at Cassidy and food at the bar.  Biggest issue for me was the noise level. It was hard to have a conversation with my middle-aged hearing.

Finally had a chance to eat at Lorena's in the new space, in the dining room area (as opposed to the bistro).  The noise level wasn't as bad as the Cassidy and it was possible to hold a conversation without having to lean towards the other side of the table.

I was disappointed by the ambience, being seated right by the kitchen doors and having them open/shut with flashes of light.  I am also not a big fan of the open window to the kitchen, with the noise and light from there.  I think the only way I would go back there is if I could get a table in the way back area of the dining room.

The previous times we have eaten at Lorena's, the food has been excellent, but this time the food was unremarkable(the sauces were bland for my grilled octopus and halibut).

Friends went on a recent Saturday night for a special occasion and described it as “eh at best,” and I was shocked.

We ate there recently and sat in one of the booths in the front room.  The noise level is so much better.  They installed curtains and a rug and it makes a huge difference. I was able to speak with my fellow guests.

Our food was great across the board.

We sat in the front section  and I was surprised to see how casually some people came in. For a $$$$$ meal it’s nice to feel like it’s a little special. Next time I would try to sit in the back.
We enjoyed our food and the ambiance A LOT but I agree about the halibut I had as well. It was fine but I didn’t think the accompaniments were as flavorful as I expected.
That said, I will gladly go back because I felt like everyone working there was super professional even if the service was a little more casual than it had been in the past.

We visited a couple of months ago. In contrast to some of the other reviews here, our experience was first rate. We had the octopus and the crab crepe as starters, and I had the halibut as an entree, and all of it was excellent. And the noise level in the bistro was far more tolerable than when it was the Cassidy.

Two thumbs way up from me.  question
