Kitchen ants

The liquid ant traps I tried were utterly useless.

Suggestions?

TIA

Clean out all the cabinets, put a trap in the back of them ( I used Raid traps), then spray along the baseboards, and you probably need at least 16 traps (2 boxes ).  And make sure you clean up carefully after everything.

Try Borax/Boric acid. They have helped significantly. 2 days and they were gone.

Keep non-perishables such as flour and sugar in well sealed metal containers.  Wash dishes, utensils, and cookware immediately upon use.  Wash trash items that contained food particles prior to placing in the trash.  When preparing food, clean up as you go. Keep surfaces, including plant pot saucers as dry as possible.  Towel dry the sink after each use. Avoid leaving pet food out when pet is not eating.  Check house plants for possible infestations and treat or remove any plants showing signs of infestation.  Combined with cleaning cabinets and surfaces (including the floor) thoroughly and often, this will eliminate food and water sources and should eventually resolve the problem.

Second for Jerry Buckingham.  I get them many years and, when I call Jerry, he comes out usually the same day or next day and sprays outside and puts up the little traps inside and no more ants!  Already had him out this year and he took care of it.  If there should be a recurrence he comes back and fixes it (but I think that only happened once to me.)

check around your foundation near the kitchen and look to see where they’re coming in from. Pull back the grass, if you have any there. If you see them, boil a pot of water a go at them. No amount of cleaning or traps in the kitchen will eradicate them, you need to find them at the source, not at their final destination.

Jerry Buckingham, and remove all sweets from near where the ants are. No sweets. If they are coming through an entrance near a cabinet, make sure that cabinet has no sweets whatsoever.
