January 19th? - Nope

I don't get the benefit to parents ... a few hours a week with the kids out of the house is not sufficient childcare to make much of a dent for employment purposes and not all that much of a "break" from virtual school.  And from what I've read, the kids in the classroom will basically be doing the same computer-based virtual school as before but just from a desk in school rather than at home.

These BOE people basically got pushed over by a few angry parents. Fast-forward a month or two and they will all be remote again, plus we will have a bunch of extra covid cases as a bonus.

I’ve been told from an extremely reliable source that as of the 13th the ventilation system at Montrose, where the Pre-K is located, was not operational.  Their plan to address was to keep windows open, which is obviously not adequate.

Four days of partial opening (K-2 and 6th grade only, if I am correctly informed). So what's the score? 7 confirmed Covid-19 cases so far, across 4 school buildings. If only someone could have predicted this. Oh wait, everyone with at least one brain cell did. Reminder to self: vote these idiots out of BOE next few years.

So now the teachers union told our school district they won't be coming back to in-school teaching starting Wednesday, because conditions are terrible and it is not safe. Apparently the ventilation system does not work, so they have to teach with all windows open, and then because some kids are still remote, the in-class kids still need to use their computers to participate in class, and teachers cannot get too close to them so they can't really help anyway.

This was all entirely predictable. What did we do to deserve a superintendent and a BOE that are so massively incompetent? They just let themselves be pushed over by a small group of parents.

I also have a question for those parents: you are pushing teachers and kids back into the classroom, but how many of you also go physically back into your office to work?
