Dear Vladimir: "It's Mueller Time"

He's covered with mud, mold, and only functions when surrounded by others just like him who are being held together by plaster. He's dense, inflexible and totally uninteresting. At best, he looks like a cross between sponge-bob square pants, and Liberace, who, because he could play the piano, avoided being brick-like. If I think of any more, I'll tell you.

sigh.

do I have to?

Ordinary Russian Citizen not connected to comrade Putin, you mean.

It's so obvious that I didn't think I needed to say it.

This makes it a lot harder for Trump to fire Mueller. This is a turning point. Up till now, I thought Trump might be able to do it.

This isn't the result of Carter Page's FISA warrant or the dossier.

But I'd still like to see that Democratic FISA memo. I hope it doesn't get misplaced in the middle of all this scrambling.

On Wednesday Schiff said that they are working with the FBI to make redactions.

“When we reach agreement with the FBI, is that the end of the matter or will the white House still put a veto on it?” he asked rhetorically."

President Trump says, "NO COLLUSION" and "stop the outlandish partisan attacks".

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/statement-press-secretary-regarding-russia-indictments/

President Donald J. Trump has been fully briefed on this matter and is glad to see the Special Counsel’s investigation further indicates—that there was NO COLLUSION between the Trump campaign and Russia and that the outcome of the election was not changed or affected.

President Trump says, “it is more important than ever before to come together as Americans. We cannot allow those seeking to sow confusion, discord, and rancor to be successful. It’s time we stop the outlandish partisan attacks, wild and false allegations, and far-fetched theories, which only serve to further the agendas of bad actors, like Russia, and do nothing to protect the principles of our institutions. We must unite as Americans to protect the integrity of our democracy and our elections.”

Yup, Russian agent.

NO.

Donald Trump Jr. and Kellyanne Conway pushed tweets from @Ten_GOP, which was operated by Internet Research Agency.

"Two days before election day, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway tweeted a post by @Ten_GOP regarding Hillary Clinton’s email.
“Mother of jailed sailor: ‘Hold Hillary to same standards as my son on Classified info’ #hillarysemail #WeinerGate” the tweet reads."
"President Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. followed the account until its closure on Aug. 23 of this year. Trump Jr. retweeted the account three times, including an allegation of voter fraud in Florida one week before the election.
“BREAKING: #VoterFraud by counting tens of thousands of ineligible mail in Hillary votes being reported in Broward County, Florida Please, RT,” the tweet read."

eta - It's interesting that the above story was written in October, 2017.

"Last March the account was one of the most active in promoting WikiLeaks’ first big release of CIA documents, using the occasion to float the false claim that the so-called Vault 7 documents acquitted Russia in the hack of the Democratic National Committee. “BREAKING: Obama’s CIA posed as RUSSIAN HACKERS to disguise their dirty work,” read one of the tweets. “The ‘Russian hacking’ was a false flag by the CIA. It was done to give Obama a reason to spy on Trump!” read another.
Overt Russian propaganda outlets Sputnik and RT frequently used @Ten_GOP’s tweets in their news stories, including a story titled “Russia has no compromising info on Trump or Clinton, report is ‘total bluff’—Kremlin.”

"President Trump's National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said on Saturday that Russia's meddling in the election is now 'beyond dispute', conceding the results of Robert Mueller's probe and directly contradicting the US Russian foreign minister who labeled them 'just babble' moments earlier.

McMaster was speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday morning.

He said the evidence that there was interference 'is now incontrovertible' and he credited Mueller's investigation and the sensational, long-awaited indictment for bringing it to the surface.

'As you can see with the FBI indictment, the evidence is now really incontrovertible and available in the public domain.'

Laughing off the notion that the US could work with the Kremlin on the issue of cyber security in the future, he said:

'I’m surprised there are any Russian cyber experts available based on how active most of them have been undermining our democracies in the West."

"It has been clear to everyone (except Donald Trump) that Russia was deeply involved in the 2016 election and intends to be involved in 2018. It is the American people who should be deciding the political future of our country, not Mr. Putin and the Russian oligarchs."

Even, unlikely as it is, if there was no collusion with Russia, Trump's concern isn't about a foreign power trying to upend our Democracy. Its instead "see there was no collusion."

For Trump its always been about him, him alone and no one else. The public or our Democracy be damned.

WASHINGTON — After more than a dozen Russians and three companies were indicted on Friday for interfering in the 2016 elections, President Trump’s first reaction was to claim personal vindication: “The Trump campaign did nothing wrong — no collusion!” he wrote on Twitter.

He voiced no concern that a foreign power had been trying for nearly four years to upend American democracy, much less resolve to stop it from continuing to do so this year.

Trump tweeting this morning, with an argument that sounds like a word parsing that paulsurovell would do.

"I never said Russia did not meddle in the election, I said “it may be Russia, or China or another country or group, or it may be a 400 pound genius sitting in bed and playing with his computer.” The Russian “hoax” was that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia - it never did!"

Here's another one from last night - whataboutism in a nutshell.

"General McMaster forgot to say that the results of the 2016 election were not impacted or changed by the Russians and that the only Collusion was between Russia and Crooked H, the DNC and the Dems. Remember the Dirty Dossier, Uranium, Speeches, Emails and the Podesta Company!"

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/965079126829871104

And here he is using students' deaths. The most disgusting diversion yet, I hope the local apologists don't sink this low.

"Very sad that the FBI missed all of the many signals sent out by the Florida school shooter. This is not acceptable. They are spending too much time trying to prove Russian collusion with the Trump campaign - there is no collusion. Get back to the basics and make us all proud!"

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/965075589274177536

Trump has had a least a dozen tweets since the indictments were announced and he has yet to impugn Russia.

Rick Scott called for the resignation of the FBI director because the FBI failureto cioantian this guy. Or is it because the FBI is burrowing down into the Russia mess, something Trump and many Republicans hate.

Conveniently Scott has not brought up the failure of his own state agency:

PARKLAND, Fla. — A Florida social services agency conducted an in-home investigation of Nikolas Cruz after he exhibited troubling behavior nearly a year and a half before he shot and killed 17 people at his former high school in Florida, a state report shows.

The agency, the Florida Department of Children and Families, had been alerted to posts on Snapchat of Mr. Cruz cutting his arms and expressing interest in buying a gun, according to the report. But after visiting and questioning Mr. Cruz at his home, the department determined he was at low risk of harming himself or others.

The report is the latest indication that Mr. Cruz was repeatedly identified by local and federal agencies as a troubled young man with violent tendencies. The F.B.I. admitted on Friday that it had failed to investigate a tip called into a hotline last month by a person close to Mr. Cruz identifying him as a gun owner intent on killing people, possibly at a school. The local police were called to Mr. Cruz’s house many times for disturbances over several years.

The FBI owned up to their failure. When will Scott's local agencies own up? When will Scott ask for the resignation of the head of the Florida Department of Children and Families?

Trump, Scott, Nunes, etc., - all cut from the same cloth.

"Funny how the Fake News Media doesn’t want to say that the Russian group was formed in 2014, long before my run for President. Maybe they knew I was going to run even though I didn’t know!"

"The Republican Party candidates are very concerned that sometime after the final episode of The Apprentice, on May 20th, when the equal time provisions are no longer applicable to me, I will announce my candidacy for President of the United States as an Independent and that, unless I conclusively agree not to run as an Independent, they will not agree to attend or be a part of the Newsmax debate scheduled for December 27, 2011. It is very important to me that the right Republican candidate be chosen to defeat the failed and very destructive Obama Administration, but if that Republican, in my opinion, is not the right candidate, I am not willing to give up my right to run as an Independent candidate. Therefore, so that there is no conflict of interest within the Republican Party, I have decided not to be the moderator of the Newsmax debate. The American people are embarrassed by the gridlock currently taking place in Washington. I must leave all of my options open because, above all else, we must make America great again!"
