 No, but they're not closed.

I think its a shame if they close outdoor areas.  Some sunlight, fresh air, & exercise is good for everyone's immune system.   Generally, I think closing outdoor venues like this a really bad idea.

When they showed outdoor seating at FL restaurants last week and said they’d removed tables so people would be spaced farther apart, they still looked pretty close together to me. Cafe tables set six feet apart would be tough.

Am buying flights to Florida for 3rd weekend of May.

Oh, please, Lord, please.

Essex County closed the parks 5 days ago.

Update: I drove by the reservoir yesterday and there was a sheriff's officer sitting in the car in an empty parking lot. I drove up to him and asked, and he said, "Yes, all Essex County Parks are closed."

I drove past that park and the crescent and both lots had cars. Reservoir had about 30 cars and lots of peeps inside. I guess the parks are closed for liability issues. Beyond that, it seems to be Y.O.Y.O. (You're on your own. Go at your own risk.)

Florida's case numbers should be sky high by then.

On the bright side, he'll have the state to himself.

Monthly Update: If the beaches in Delaware &/or LBI must remain closed through the summer, then yes, there might be hell to pay (or hopefully not, depending on one's ethical/political bents) at the polls next go-round, but here's all I have to say on the subject of broken plans...

Today was the day I was supposed to head off to Texas for The Denton Music and Arts Fest. Ah, well. Next year maybe.

Interesting story in the NYT today - not blocked by a paywall - about what eating in restaurants may look like once we are back to the new normal that will be our lives. One question is how interested people will be in dining out of it feels in many ways similar to being at the dentist, as far as safety precautions go. And restauranteurs worry they can make it if they’re only allowed to be at 50 percent seating capacity. (While those waiting are no longer allowed to fill a bar area.)
