Interesting Statistic

I just saw this on PBS.

70% of Dems have watched at least on Republican Debate, while only 40% of Republicans have watched a Democratic Debate.

Intellectual curiosity?  Need to be informed?

or

I only want to hear what I believe.

It should be noted that the Republican debates have been vastly more entertaining.

Train wrecks are very compelling

True, I don't expect any new information tonight but I still will be watching.

What percentage of Democrats have watch a Democratic debate and what percentage of Republicans have watched their own?

It should also be noted that the figures are a month and a half old. And of the four Democratic debates held by that point, three were on weekend nights. (The Republicans had held six by then, all on midweek nights.)

Given the caveats above, the poll's margin of error and my math skills, I wouldn't take these numbers to the bank, but ... it looks like about 60% of Republicans had watched a Republican debate and about 46% of Democrats had watched a Democratic debate.

I think there's enough disenchantment among Dems with the possibility of a Clinton run that people want to know if one of the Republicans may be a real alternative to her Republican-lite platform.

The RNC scheduled the debates to be aired  when most people would be watching. In order to protect Hillary's coronation the DNC scheduled the fewest they could get away with and aired  them them when the fewest people would be watching. IIRC one was scheduled opposite the Super Bowl.

Caused an uproar in the party but Debby got her way.

I can not possibly imagine that this is true for more than maybe a handful of people.  Certainly not enough to skew any polls.  All the republican candidates that even had a slight chance of getting the nomination were known quantities.  The only way that a Democrat would have considered one of these guys would be due to a severe head injury.

Not because of Clinton but because some of the White working class are fed up with Washington and are buying into Trump's BS.

The White working class is fed up with Washington but the Black working class doesn't seem to be. Why is the color of one's skin more determinative of one's political views than one's economic status?

Racial/religious background appears to have more correlation with party affiliation than economic status for many groups in the US.  See attachment.

"I think there's enough disenchantment among Dems with the possibility of a Clinton run that people want to know if one of the Republicans may be a real alternative to her Republican-lite platform." I think you're right; as a matter a fact I'm positive...

9 Dem debates so far, 4 of them on a Saturday or Sunday. None on Super Bowl Sunday.

There was one which went up against the last NFL Playoffs game (Steelers/Broncos). Also, Episode 3 of Downton Abbey was on.

I don't know that it's fair to compare the two. One is professional wrestling in a suit and the other is dry-ass nonsense about the "future of the country" or whatever.

That explains why I didn't watch that one, but it doesn't explain why I haven't watched any of them.

 question

In a nutshell, yes.
