How do you like living next to, or near, Maplecrest Park?

Hi All,

My family and I looking to move to the neighborhood that is around Maplecrest Park.  What is the neighborhood like? It looks beautiful but it is new territory for us, having lived in South Orange for the last 12 years.  Thank you in advance for your replies!

Where around Maplecrest Park?  I have lived in the Maplecrest neighborhood bordered by Prospect Street, Tuscan Road, and Oakland Road (which forms both the northern and eastern boundaries of the neighborhood) for nearly 40 years and love it.  

I have lived on Courter Avenue for 25+ years. The park is great. Nice to have it close by.

We are looking in the same exact neighborhood that you described in your previous post.  Thank you!

We live on Oakland across from the park.  We have been here for 30 years.  It has been a pleasure.  The access to the park was great when the kids were young and we still like to see all the activity.  There is a lot of shopping on Springfield Ave that is convenient to walk to, including the Farmers Market, Walgreens, and restaurants like Freetown Kitchen and HLS.  The neighborhood is getting younger with many families with young kids moving in recently.

ETA also walking distance to pool and the shops at the corner of Elmwood and Boyden.

Depending on where you are, I am closer to Prospect Street than the other two posters who have replied thus far, additional destinations such as the Maplewood Train Station, Maplewood Village, Town Hall, Memorial Park, both library buildings, the Senior Center, DeHart Park/Community Center, Tuscan School, and Maplewood Middle School are also in close walking distance.  The town's remaining bus routes, along Springfield Avenue, are also close by.
