Jim Jordan's general behavior over the past year has been more than enough to assassinate his character, well before the sex abuse allegations.
Here;s a good twitter thread on the state of free speech on campuses today.
Summary - there is no problem. Wotta surprise.
This is one of those issues where no amount of evidence will persuade the people who believe there is some sort of free speech crisis on campuses. It's a pretty good microcosm of what's wrong with our country. There are right wing think tanks devoted to pushing phony ideas, and now they need to convince regular people that their phony ideas need to be included in campus debates as a matter of "free speech."
The people who think free speech is under "attack" on campus are being played. And we all lose as our intellectual discourse becomes even more degraded by lies and untruths foisted on students under the guise of free speech.
"It’s been months since we heard the term 'intellectual dark web' in any way but ironically. Mockery works."

Coincidentally, the subcommittee chairman who conducted this thread’s title hearing, Jim Jordan, is being accused of turning a deaf ear to sexual abuse allegations, now coming to light, against a team physician when Jordan was Ohio State’s wrestling coach three decades ago. Jordan maintains he had no knowledge of the allegations.
I’ll take the heat for mentioning this news here, knowing it can’t help but be seen as an attempt at character assassination, because I think it (like N_B’s latest comment) encourages thought about how messy, thorny, blurred and complex the issues that are testing college campuses can be. They tend to defy cut-and-dried solutions.
