I always do at least a couple houses of sidewalk on each side of me (I'm on a corner), maybe some driveway aprons.
I'm thinking of getting up early and - depending what things look like - going out to blow snow at 6AM.
Monday Evening 12/2 Update.
The area is currently in a dry slot.
Slightly warmer than forecast temperatures and the positioning of the heaviest snow bands to our north and west rather than right overhead have kept the snow total towards the lower end of the forecast, with 1" - 2" measurable on the ground at this time.
Snow is likely to redevelop tonight after 7:00pm and run until 2:00 or so in the morning, with some snow showers possible until about 6:00am. Total additional accumulation of an inch or two is possible unless a band develops, but that is less likely now based on the location of the coastal low off Long Island.
Tomorrow will be sunny and warmer, may get close to 40 degrees.
The Winter Storm Warning is still in effect until 7:00am as the snow and water on the ground may freeze causing areas of ice and the snow that redevelops tonight coats the roads again.
I just got back from shoveling, taking advantage of the dry slot. There wasn't much on the ground. What was there was very easy to move. Hoping not to have much to do in the morning.
I just took an official measurement -- 2.5" (yielded 0.23" melted)
Much less on paved surfaces
I hit it with the electric blower --- corner lot, neighbor's walk (they are elderly) and wheelchair ramp. All three took about 20 minutes.
I went out and there's a lot less snow than I had been led to believe, and it's easy to move. I used a shovel. It hasn't restarted and (cross fingers) maybe it won't
I shoveled the walks and enough of my driveway. 'Twasn't terribly hard. We'll see what's there on the morrow.
Maybe another 9/16" fell overnight. Maybe l will let the power of nuclear fusion take care of that.
A bit more snow fell over night. Mostly a dusting in places where I shoveled yesterday. Not that much more elsewhere. I'll get out after breakfast and clear it.
Ended up with not much more than a dusting here in the city. I really think it was just too early in the season for appreciable snow around here, given the way the storm evolved. The atmosphere was a bit too warm and so was the ground.
We got enough to make the town nice and pretty for the morning. Not enough to cancel school, and I think ultimately the 2-hour delay was probably not necessary. But they had to make a decision.

Although probably not ultimately necessary, I think it was the right decision at the time, with the information available at that point. I do not envy that particular responsibility at all! (“Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.”)

Snow-blowers are nowhere near as irritating as leaf-blowers, and they're important for public safety, unlike leaf-blowers. I would never complain about a snow-blower at any hour, especially if the owner did my sidewalks as well.
