Hilary Signs Stolen from multiple front yards in College Hill

Here in the College Hill area a number of us have had our Hilary signs taken from their front yards. One of our neighbors even received a somewhat aggressive letter telling them it was time to take the sign down as Hilary had lost. If you still have signs up then please keep a watchful eye. I would clearly very much like to know who is doing this. We will be contacting the police as will the other neighbors. Needless to say this is disturbing at every level.

Thanks for post - I assume the MPD will also be keepin an eye folks who have Trump lawn signs up - equal protection under law and all that stuff right ?

I haven't seen any still up. But if there are, it won't be hard to keep on eye on both of the Trump signs that were posted in Maplewood.

Annoying, and slightly disturbing on the letter. That's a little OTT.

Thread sort-of-drift... why in hell would Hillary signs still be up? It's FEBRUARY.

Well they weren't actually election signs. They were the SOMA loves Hillary signs and in one case a Hate has no Home Here Sign.

Since the poster indicated only that the police would be contacted, presumably to report a theft from private property, and suggested only that owners keep an eye out, the invocation of sign surveillance and/or patrols appears to be what the cognoscenti call a non sequitur.

Are the "Keep the Village a Village" signs still in place?

Hope not. And while a missing HRC sign is modest vandalism, I hope the police are not spending significant time on this.

This. And has it occurred to anyone that maybe the signs were taken by HRC supporters who wanted them for their own lawn? Would we have those people similarly prosecuted?

Clearly the last post comes from the world of "alternative facts."

I posted no facts; alternative or otherwise. Care to answer the questions?

Yep. Proudly from my bedroom window directly facing the new IKEA like building rising about 150 feet away Since the building looks so much like an IKEA with windows I am hoping one of the "quality stores" attached will be serving those tasty Swedish Meatballs found at all IKEA stores

And given the courageous stand taking by the chairman of Starbucks in saying that Starbucks will be hiring thousands of refugees, I will take a more conciliatory tone towards the chain. You are witnessing history

You're really asking that question?

jeebus.

I'm trying to figure out why some houses still have their holiday lights up.

It didn't occur to me, but I'd trust that the police would chase any leads in that direction during their manhunt.

That is, I'd report the theft for the record, then let the police give it whatever priority they thought it deserved and hold no expectation of prosecutions either way.

I've seen the letter and it's creepy. Typed and sent through the mail to the person. It said "Don't you have a life? Get over Hillary she LOST". What kind of person does that?

Valentines Day is around the corner. There is always a holiday on its way.

Odds are very high it's an angry middle-aged white male.

Priority is lower than littering, higher than removing a tag from a mattress.

I don't read blotters like I used to, but this would've been way more interesting than littering.*

*With one notable, 18-minute exception.

I'm feeling profiled. Didn't 43% of the women in this country vote for him as well? I voted for her, but I fit your description.

Well, yes. Yes I am. Forgive me, but professing my love for a political candidate (or an otherwise political figure of some retirement) on behalf of an entire town-- by impaling a message on my lawn three months after an election, no less-- seems a wee bit odd to me.

Sending a typewritten letter opposing said profession of one's adoration, however, is beyond odd and well into cray-cray-land. Removing the other signs is just mean. And crazy. But mainly mean.
