Helicopter (???) noise early this morning in Montrose

Around 4am I was awakened to a loud, whirring noises. I looked up to see what it was but didn't see what I thought it could be - helicopter(s) hovering. The noise lasted for quite sometime then a bit after 7am, vanished. Am I nuts? Did anyone else hear this? If so, what was it?
