Great, Simple, Wonderful Dinner that "samples" The South and Chinese. Wonderful dinner and pretty easy!

Manage the heat by cutting back on the spices in the grits.  DO NOT USE instant grits!  An abomination!

The two surprises for me is this, if prepped the night before can happen in less than 20 minutes.  One Great Recipe!

I make a recipe very similar to this one and it is MAGNIFICENT. Really achieves Shrimp&Grits nirvana with not quite so many calories and a bit less work. Highly recommended.

I get my grits from Carolina Plantation. 1 hour cooking time.

The order of events on the shrimp part of the recipe seems wrong to me. How can the mushrooms get cooked properly without overcooking the shrimp? Ron, did it work for you?

This recipe addresses my concern about undercooked mushrooms and overcooked shrimp: http://www.seriouseats.com/201...

jasper, trust the recipe, it works wonderfully.

Like most veggies it seems we all seem to overcook them.  Great Meal!

I just can't believe how simple and wonderful it is.  Just no Instant Grits!  We cut way back on the spice and still love it!
