Giving Back to the Community

Last year on MOL, I spoke of depression and raising awareness about mental health issues through a fundraiser for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).  I received much support from the community, and the NAMI walk was a huge success.

Today I am here because it is time to give back to the community.  In coordination with the Maplewood Health Department, I am interested in forming a committee of volunteers to collaborate on creating a mental health awareness program in Maplewood.  The program would consist of creating a calendar of ongoing events to promote mental health awareness, education, stigma reduction, tolerance, and understanding.  Ideally, the program would reach adults and children as well, since early diagnosis and treatment are important steps towards living a productive life.

If you are a Maplewood resident and are interested in joining this committee, please send me a message with your contact information.

Thank you in advance.
