For fans of The Godfather

I just came across this video. I've only seen the first 15 minutes so far, but it's just fascinating

The Godfather 1 and 2 are just about my favorite movies (2001 and The Red Shoes in strong competition)

This is just great

I'm a yuuuge fan and I can't wait to watch this. Thanks for posting it.

Too bad, John Cazale couldn't be there.

Yeah, it's so cool to see this group back together again. I hadn't heard much about Duvall and Caan in the past few years - I would have wagered they were dead. Glad to see they're not. oh oh

I watched this whole thing. Some old info and if u r a fan, some new info. Most verbal Caan and Pacino. Least verbal, DeNiro although he put the whole thing together. Most interesting that the producers wanted a bunch of blue eyed blondes playing the main parts. So funny. Also, Brando's sudden transformation into the character right in front of Coppola. Genius.

James Caan was the voice of the dad in the Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs movies.

It's commonly recognized to the point of becoming a joke, but don't we all sometimes extemporaneously spout situation-specific snips of dialogue when in the company of others whom we expect will immediately grok us?

-s.

BTW: I'll bet these guys never had to wait around from 8-11AM for the cable guy...

Speaking of John Cazale, tomorrow would have been his 82nd birthday.  I just watched the documentary by Sky Arts called "I Knew it was You, Rediscovering John Cazale", shown in four parts on YouTube.  Each part is short, 8-12 minutes and worth watching.  Such a great talent that we lost too soon.  Happy Birthday, John Cazale!

One of the funniest moments of my work life was hearing years ago a young colleague sitting in a cube totally not involved in a conversation overhearing "that's the way so and so wanted it" immediately and loudly responding without moving muscle or missing a beat "IT AIN'T THE WAY I WANTED IT! I CAN HANDLE THINGS! I'M SMART..." the whole thing, demanding respect... it was like he was just sitting there waiting for that moment.

I advise youngsters to sit through GF, Caddyshack and a few others to ensure they don't take the responses they get from old folks the wrong way. Wouldn't do to sit there baffled after some grey hair declares "You're out, Tom" when there's no Tom anywhere to be seen or someone dopily mentions a Cinderella story.

The Coppola restoration is worth watching if you haven't checked it out.

Thanks for this. That was really quite a quintet of movies that he made his mark in.

You're welcome, Drummerboy.  The documentary made me sad that there are so few movies with him for us to enjoy.  But one thing it did do is make me remember his real name.  I always said "Fredo!" when I saw him in a movie or photograph, but now I'll say "John Cazale!"

Was it Meryl Streep who tended to him in his last days? Such a loss.
