  Hudson County in northeastern New Jersey...
  Eastern Passaic County in northeastern New Jersey...
  Union County in northeastern New Jersey...
  Bergen County in northeastern New Jersey...
  Essex County in northeastern New Jersey...

* Until 915 AM EDT.

* At 710 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to
  begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Newark, Paterson, Elizabeth, Passaic, Wayne, Plainfield,
  Bloomfield, Hackensack, Linden, Orange, Paramus, Ridgewood, Summit,
  Lyndhurst and Millburn.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

* Until 600 PM EDT.
* At 356 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one inch of rain has  already fallen in the past hour. Flash flooding is expected to  begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...  Paterson, Wayne, Orange, Paramus, Ridgewood, Millburn, Pompton  Lakes, Caldwell, Hawthorne, Bloomingdale, Fairfield, Clifton, West  Orange, Montclair and Fair Lawn.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.



We dodged a bullet on this one. They got almost 5" of rain in Caldwell and we got about an inch.


Yes, the Passaic is over the banks at Pine Brook, with flooding there and in Roseland and Fairfield.


Yesterday from about 5:00am until about 10:00am, we got 1.4" 

After that, we were essentially dry slotted, with much more rain falling north of us than south of us.  The bulk of that fell between 3:30 and 7:00pm


Part of Route 80 was closed for a while because of the flooding up there.
