Fentanyl

I'm sure we're mostly aware of the fact that fentanyl is being added to heroin, but it's also being added to "prescription" counterfeits. A dose the size of 3 grains of sand is death.

Apparently"fentanyl analogs are being made by the cartels that are more powerful still.

We all grew up hearing we could die from one hit of a joint, so a lot of drug warnings are greeted with skepticism. But the body count is growing, and it's not all junkies.

Warn your kids that this time is different- I have no doubt, given how fast this is penetrating drug markets, that a kid in SOMA who has no opioid problem is going to say "yeah ok" to a pill for the first, or infrequent, time and end up dead. NJ already seeing deaths, particularly in Ocean County- it's just a matter of time and distribution before it's here if it isn't already.

Crazy. Cops just got Narcan, we just passed the overdose get out of jail free law and something shows up that is so brutal it makes both irrelevant.

Be talking guys. I can't believe I'm saying "talk to your kids about drugs" like some cheeseball commercial but this time it is a fact- one time could be the only time.

Edit to add: make sure they know that if someone overdoses they can call for help and they will NOT be arrested. That's the law now. They MUST call. They will not get in trouble. In fact if they don't call and someone dies they will get in a ton of trouble.

Good advice but I don’t understood the thinking behind selling drugs in doses so easily fatal???

Don’t the dealers make their real money on repeat business???

I agree that it is a horrible problem. It must be difficult to titrate the precise dose because there is such a small difference in amount between a fantastic high, and death.
