Favorite Interjections (The ‘Phooey’ Thread)

Darn! Not a brown face in the bunch.

I use the most contemporary of interjections, the one that shows how hip I am to the modern world and how well I understand the complexities of today's society, technology and ever-changing social order and all it's challenges. The one that shows how right I am to  lead the free world.

Malarkey.

(I also say "Obama!" as often as I can.)

Wowsers!
and Sheesh! as in ‘Wowsers! Look at the lake! Do you think it’s going to flood this weekend???’ ‘Sheesh! If this rain keeps up, probably - where can we move our stuff to?? How?!!’

Aaargh! Did you hear that thunder?? Shook the house!

‘Faaaaaark! It’s almost under the house now!’ (In the 45 mins since these were taken the water level has risen at least 3”. It is draining out to the Wetlands as it should, however everything’s flooded so draining slowly. I’ve been reassured we’re ok) (that bit of white is our balcony railing)

Dam!

(Sending wishes that your reassurers are right.)

The interjection above is sometimes used as an exclamation, often involuntary, in Australia. It’s commonly known as a ‘crow call’, after Graham Kennedy used it live on TV one night... I’m sure Wikipedia has a page on it.

The landlord has been out and witnessed the changing shoreline. All is well. (House is on low stilts)

ETA to add, about 90mins later: we’ve officially had just over 18” rain since 9am yesterday. It’s now 1:40pm my time, and more rain to come for days. I think ‘OK Boomer’ with rolling-eyes might be useful now if a climate change/science denier happened by.
