Father's Day gift ideas?

Hello,

With Father's Day fast approaching I am mildly concerned that my idea bank is dry! I have three boys between the ages of 1.5 and 5 and would like to do something with them that produces something attractive for my husband's office or our house. I'll do the old handprints-in-plaster as a fall-back but wondered if anyone had something more clever up their sleeve. If it involves a local business all the better. Thanks!

At school, we sometimes made shadow portraits of the students (have the child stand in front of a large piece of paper, facing sideways, shine a light on them and trace their profile and back of head and top of neck on the paper. Cut it out and then trace it onto black paper (if you're handy, you can trace right on the black paper using chalk and eliminate the intermediate step). Now you have a silhouette portrait of each child. You can write their name under it - or have them do it - and ask each one something special about Dad. That can be written under the silhouette. You can put them in a triple frame, or frame each separately and you'll have a nice gift - the silhouettes always seemed to capture an amazing amount of the child's personality.

We didn't do it every year, since the students tended to be in the class for 2 or more years, but the years that we did do it, it seemed very popular with the parents.

I just did a photobook from the past year's photos. Did it on Wed, shipped out already - getting it Monday-ish. I do this year year for the last 7.

Thanks so much to you both! Great ideas!
