eye condition PPPD

A family member, 30ish was just diagnosed with Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness.

Does anyone know of this, or have been thru this condition. It is somewhat debilitating, and affecting his lifestyle, job and home life more or less.

thank you

A medical search led me to this:

'orthostatic hypotension: A form of low blood pressure occurring after a person stands up, often after prolonged rest. The change in position causes a temporary reduction in blood flow to the brain and symptoms which include dizziness, lightheadedness, blurred vision and fainting. May also be called postural hypotension. '

Now, there was a further short entry a little lower under P that indicated rapid eye movements especially when eyes or head movements shifted from downwards to up, could trigger the dizziness. In some people this movement is involuntary, and (not wanting to scare anyone) might also be an early sign of some diseases.

It's probable that your relative will be given some eye exercises, some medication, some further testing and I'm guessing there will be a special kind of corrective lens that will limit the environmental triggers. Like a lot of people, he'll be told to be very careful and sure before moving from sitting and from lying down, and will need to re-Kearney how to turn. Depending on his current occupation, he might need to retrain and pick up some skills in exciting new technologies (not being sarcastic, some new solutions are really fun to use).
