Entering password to computer when using phone to access internet

I just changed the password to my phone’s personal hotspot, and now I can’t enter the new password onto the computer; help please. When I try to connect, it doesn’t give me an option to enter the password; it must be trying to get in with my old password. How do I enter the new password onto the computer?

You need to remove the wireless network from your phone and then re-connect to it again as if this was a new network. On iPhone you go to Settings->Wifi->network_name->Forget this Network. Then you go scane for network agai, select the network, and log in again. On android there must be something similar.

The network is the personal hotspot which is the phone itself. I typed its old and new name, but my iphone did not recognize it. Probably because it doesn’t have a password for it to function properly, no? Or did I misunderstand what the network’s name is?

I figured it out. Part of the problem is that my battery is 4.5 yrs old, and the phone’s signal wasn’t being picked up by the computer when I tried to log on. I discovered that this morn when I was within a strong signal, and the new acct came up as an option when I tried to connect the computer to the internet via the phone.

As soon as I saw the signal I clicked on it, and it asked me for the password. Success! Problem solved. Next.

Thank you very much Gerritn.

Not sure if I was of any help, but: you are welcome!
