Electrician: need a new one for kitchen re-fresh

We need to do some work in our kitchen, but can't afford to do it all at once and I am dubious of general contractors. I'd like to at least start by subbing some of the work myself with trusted contractors. I think the place to start is the most essential behind the walls work: removing an over the oven microwave and replacing with a properly vented range hood, upgrading kitchen outlets and electrical as needed (to code), and removing nasty florescent fixtures and replacing ceiling lighting.

We have worked with Stacey for years, but their prices seem very high, and no wonder, the electrician they send to us lives in PA. We'd like to find a more local electrician willing to bid this job and possibly becoming our go-to electrician for future needs.

I searched threads and found very little chatter about electricians specifically. Any recommendations?

Highly recommend Superior Wirework, 973-713-5345. Ask to speak directly with the owner, Dan.

Use John Sileo - local electrician nice and honest 973-477-2625

K.,

Mario Bratt, Allstate Electric, prices were fair, work was well done. Answered any questions I had, came back when I thought there was a issue with the bathroom exhaust fan to take a look at it. There was a small issue with the outlets in the bathroom, they were set too deeply in the wall due to the wainscotting be added after outlets were done. Wasn't an an issue, they came back and added the extenders to fix the issue.

The office number is: 973-689-2753

Regards,

RCH

We always use Brian Stromko for electrical work. We haven't ever done a major renovation like that, but are contemplating it now and assume we will use him again if possible.
