It may be a tough day for pulling together a river cleanup crew.
(I know my tree-hugger spouse, who has participated in some river cleanups in the past, is going to the March for Science in NYC tomorrow).
from Bob Roe again: I think both events, science march and the local river clean-up and tree planting, are important. I recommend for reading a play by Ibsen, "An Enemy of the People." It is a quick read and while not directed at today's health and environmental issues, it fits perfectly.
from Bob Roe: Thank you for everyone who helped at the Earth Day River Clean-Up today. We removed hundreds of pounds of scrap metal, lots of litter, a concrete bunny and two animal skulls that we think might be possums. A good veggie picnic lunch fed lots of our volunteers. This included cub scouts, adults with children, Columbia High School students and us ex hippies.

from Bob Roe: The Township Environmental Advisory Committee is holding an Earth Day river clean up Saturday April 22 from 10am till 2pm. So, if any of you are aging hippies (like me), or tree huggers, or motivated Millenials or Gen Xers, we will be glad to see you. We will be having a picnic lunch for volunteers.
