Disney Fun Facts

Disney World is re-opening and recently I came across some fun facts about Disney - this was a cool find:

13. Built in 1917, Prince Charming Regal Carousel in Fantasyland was once located at Olympic Park in Maplewood, New Jersey.

That was found from this list:

Here's a few more:

2 that were interesting to me were

- You're never more then 30 steps away from a garbage can.

- Flags are fake - they either miss a star or a stripe, in this way, they don't need to worry about flag etiquette.

I had read that about the trash cans.  When we were there I started looking and it’s true.  In fact, at any point if you look around you’ll probably see 2 or 3 trash cans within easy distance.  Yet for some reason some people still throw stuff on the ground.  Not a lot, and the employees (or characters, or whatever they’re called) swoop in and pick up any stray trash super fast

If you are lucky, you can board the monorail in the middle of the afternoon (no crowds)  at one of the monorail resort stops and if you are first in line, you can ask to sit up front with the driver.  I did this with my young daughter.   The view is really excellent and my daughter got an honorary monorail engineer license.

That carousel was featured in my murder mystery "Death in the Stacks" which was a fundraiser for the Library's centenary. It's history was expanded somewhat for the game.

Sounds like an interesting book. Did the librarian murder someone for inappropriate use of an apostrophe?  surprised

And right now, as they open during a pandemic Actors Equity protested, so they locked out all of the union actors.  Just going to expose the non union folks.
