Did you tip workers on remodel?

I hate tipping because it seems so ambiguous. OTH, I don't want people to feel stiffed. We've been doing a kitchen remodel. Do people generally tip? Who? How much?

We didn't tip during our bathroom remodel. We did, however, purchase lots of drinks (bottled water, soda, etc) and made it clear that they were more than welcome to help themselves. Of course a bathroom is different than a kitchen, plumbers and plumber's helpers are generally well paid. I don't know how much general contracting workers make, but I would still assume they make a decent salary and don't depend on tips like waitstaff do.

We haven't. If you really feel youwant to do something drinks are always welcome and for. A multiday project maybe pizza mmidway thru.

Not a fan of tipping for these types of workers.

No, I don't tip. I have bought lunch (pizza, subs) for them, but one day when the owner was on the premises he asked me not to, that he provides lunch for his workers.

Always do, but then again I was a tradesman for many years.

We did not tip, but at the end of the project we threw a beer and pizza party for all involved in our spanking new kitchen + family room... they were our first guests in the new kitchen...

I tip -- had a project going on over the holidays -- and throwing an extra $20/$50 per worker is a nice gesture at the end of the week or right before the holiday. I believe they appreciate it. Came home after one of the snows and the guys had cleared the drive and walks, which of course wasn't necessary, it was nice of them.

I'd def tip for a shoveled walk.
