Oh, and if this is embarrassing or bad for business, please, dear Bros Ross and Pavel, remove the thread.
Oh my ... now you have me popping in and out of threads to see different ad combos. As if I didn't already spend too much time here!
On this page I am seeing two banner ads for three different construction companies.
I have Alex Constructions and the Chelsea Set at the top of this page... A 'do that's sure to stay in place
Which then moved to Eye Level Learning Centre, and Waste Industries...get your diagnostic now!
(Oh, I am naughty!!)
Subtle:
The Gym on Springfield and (I think - had some trouble logging on) Arturo's
Gee, I hadn't even noticed that the banner ads were up again. The enforced sabbatical has curtailed my browsing.
I'm noticing the ads more, but find them less disturbing, in this design. When they were introduced to the old Board, I found them really distracting when I was trying to read anything; and even after I'd got used to them being around, I had to consciously not look at huge areas of my screen.
What I find now is that I notice what's there, I notice any new names or businesses, notice if the flash is too fast or the pairing amusing, and move on. And a few, I wish I lived there so I could contact because of current household needs (should we move? Where's a handyman/plumber etc).
LOL Chelsea Set (manicure/pedicure services) next to Tax Planning advisers... If only I could arrange my 'excess' salary to take advantage...
Just now:
Roman Gourmet (?) and [somebody] Fully Insured.
Just the luck of those two panels flashing on at the same time...
Haha - just now, up top: Preferred Pet Care..... With a 25 Year Guarantee
Oh dear, Carmine Landscaping and Village Barbers, both at the bottom of the page. Both part way through their cycle of screens and both making perfect sense if you read straight across the page! I'm sure it's not planned with such split-second accuracy, yet it makes me smile.

Every time I see this thread I quickly read it as
"MOL ad placemats"
From MOL, the Diner?

In same vein as Horribly Out of Context Quotes, and Funny Thread Titles, I propose a new thread that chuckles at the funny juxtapositions of some of the ads. I know it's a timing thing, I know there isn't much that can be done - but there's been some really funny pairings in the last 24hours.
Phil M's Plumbing, and the Carpet Girl, which screen for screen almost read as if they're written to complement each other (good placement), and earlier, a demolition company next to a restaurant (random).
Yesterday, dining next to fitness.
Etc. things to make me smile.
