Colon Cancer Two Programs

from Robert Roe, Health Officer Maplewood:   Open to all people from all towns.

The Maplewood Health Dept. along with our partners are holding two Colon Cancer education programs.    1.  Tuesday March 19 10am-Noon in front of Town Hall 574 Valley St.   Overlook Hospital Health van will be parked and be doing colon cancer education, BMI and Glucose Screenings.

On Wednesday March 27 in Ricalton Square from 11am until 1pm a colon cancer education program will be held using a giant inflatable colon that you can walk through.   We have laughed a lot about this at Town Hall, but this is a great visual way to learn.   Take a picture of yourself in the colon...(.just kidding.)

I think most of us know about how deadly colon cancer is.  But still too far few of us get a colonoscopy or consult with a doctor.

Uh, I am taking photos of people in the colon...

from Bob Roe:   Thank you Joy..   I forgot that part of the plan.

is the exit port of the huge colon named for D(arth) Cheney?

Bump from Bob Roe:   If you need a good visual education on colon cancer, come to the display in Ricalton Square, Wednesday 3/27  10am till 1pm.

I go every 7 to 8 years and just went last Friday. Clean bill of health. Anyone over 50 should get screened a little discomfort for a few hours can save your life.
