Update: spoke with a professional drapery cleaner, who quoted me ~ $400 for 6 short panels and two long [36"] panels. Ouch!
Hang them on the clothesline, beat them with a tennis racquet and call it done!

Took my custom made (by me) curtains to Gleason to be cleaned: the very honest owner tested them and said he could not clean them with his products. Can you recommend where to take these works of art to be cleaned?
