Christmas tree dead

So my friend and I both got trees. And they are both already dead. Got them at a local nursery. Has this happened to anyone else?  Kept in a cool home not near heat source. This has never happened before. Time for a new tree.

I know this is a silly question, but have you been watering it every day? If so, contact the nursery. They should make it right.

yup. Water twice per day!!!!! I will contact them. Thanks!

You kept it properly hydrated?

The same thing happened to our tree last year.  It would not drink water.  I think in our case that the nursery did not make a wide enough fresh cut on the trunk.

weird thing is that it is drinking like crazy but all the needles are on the floor!!!

trees are cut starting in October and even though they are still 'alive' and drink, they cannot hold onto their needles.  Many of the trees in our area come from across the country (Oregon being  a big tree growing state). These trees are shipped via rail cars, sent to a large buyer, who then sells to other nurseries and indie guys (parking lot sites). If you buy your trees early, this often happens.  Go back to where you got it from and see if they will help you.

I did that very thing for a customer this morning. A big 9 foot Balsam fir. They were right, the pic showed it was really depleted. I got the manager to just let me prep a new tree for her and put it on her car. No muss, no fuss.

oh cool. Where do you work?
