Christmas Stollen

Have to bring this to a Christmas celebration. Trader Joe's is okay but thought some bakery in the area might have it.

A wild card: You could call the Union Pork Store. They always have German and Polish baked goods like breads and babka, and might be carrying stollen for the season. If they do have some on hand, I bet it’s good.

Is Stollen as controversial as Pannetone?   grin

When I read the post title, I thought it read "Christmas Stolen". Glad your Christmas will be in tact.

Varrelmann's in Rutherford make their own stollen, and are known for their stollen and pfeffernusse.

Damn that Grinch.

I ended up buying it at Trader Joe's. In fact I bought three.  That Rutherford bakery sounds good. Will try it sometime. Thanks.

Second the Union Pork Store.   Last Christmas when I was there they had some that looked pretty good.  FWIW - not that hard to make your own.  My mom always made at least 2 or 3 each year.    In fact, now I'm getting inspired...

I used to make it,too.I'm just not that inspired.

Have you been to Aldis?  Truly best commercial stollen around, they have a "regular" version in a couple flavors and a premium one too.

Galileo is taken care of, but for anybody else who may be looking: I was at the Union Pork Store today and they do indeed have stollen, in a few different varieties.
