Christie and Booker's comedy skit: "Don't worry, we've got this." archived

Lol, enjoyed that. While I believe both take their jobs very seriously it's nice to see they don't take themselves too seriously.

It will be interesting to see where these two end up 10 years from now. National names I'm sure.

heh. Christie and Eli Manning are about equal in acting skills. Booker is fantastic.

It does show a better side of Christie than we've seen. At least he has a sense of humor.

meh.

they should stick to their day jobs.

I appreciate the effort ... "a little levity is appropriate in a dangerous trade." - Wally Schirra

They both came out looking great-it's wonderful to see how a little bi-partisanship goes a long way. Can you imagine Sharpe James and Corzine doing this?

Sure, except the context would have included a few courtroom appearances, bags of cash, etc.

I'm pretty sure Sharpe James would never have turned down a chance to be on camera.

Unless it was a sting.

Two clever and personable guys in the video could, in an ideal world, do good things for NJ and U.S. A shame CC's politics are cloaked in such seeming good nature.

Saw this via twitter, hysterical!

do some of you really think this is "hysterical?"

I guess I'm a tougher audience. It didn't even make me chuckle. not even once. just because a couple of guys not known for acting do a video doesn't automatically make it funny. it wasn't particularly clever, and the acting in it brought this guy to mind:

I didn't think it was LOL funny, but I enjoyed it. I don't really care about the acting, nor that it wasn't clever. My take is that politicians (and their "handlers") think it is a sign of weakness if they poke fun at themselves. The opposite is true, IMO. I was glad to see the effort.

And ml1, I never thought Wooden was wooden. oh oh

they really weren't poking fun at themselves. they were both celebrating how awesome they are. that's the big reason I didn't think it was funny.

I thought it was amusing - they were being self-deprecating, as when Christie asks the State Police if they need his help, they say no, and then Booker runs in and they give him a list of things they need him for.

And the Springsteen guitar followed by the iPhone message ...

I didn't think it was all that self-deprecating. Christie could have really poked fun at himself when he talked about the town halls. and I don't think Booker is being self-deprecating by saying "hey look, people make a big deal out of me being a hero!"

it would have been a funny recurring bit to have Christie not walk anywhere. a golf cart taking him to his SUV would have been self-deprecating.

Well, I agree that it wasn't on the level of Obama at the Correspondents' Dinner telling the joke, "What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? A pit bull is delicious." The cut-away reaction shot of his wife (her look said, "I can't believe you used that one.") was hilarious.

I've got the vision for the gag now. Christie takes a Segway from his office down the hall to a golf cart which takes him out to his SUV in the parking lot. Christie on a Segway. now that's comedy!

For what purpose was this video made?

So that people on the left can piss and moan about Christie while people on the right piss and moan about Booker.

Bringing people together. That's what this video is about.

Come on Man, just seeing Christie lament "Booker!" ALA Homer Simpson IS FUNNY.

It was made as a gag for the Correspondents Club show.

Fwiw, I didn't think Seinfeld in the Acura commercial saying "Leno!" was funny either. But to Christie's credit he is a better actor than Seinfeld.

Of course--Christie has more to work with.
