Bulk Nuts

For the past 2 years, I’ve been unable to find  bulk nuts for the holidays in the supermarkets. Particularly Filberts, Brazil, Walnuts, Pecans... Apparently Shoprite no longer carries them or any of the markets except for the Diamond pre-packaged ones. Any ideas?

In shells?  If shelled is OK, at least some of them would be in the bulk section at Whole Foods or the like?

And of course, the thread title just begs for a political tack, but I won't go there.

Millburn ShopRite has a variety of nuts at the back of the produce section just to the left of the frozen chicken parts case.  These are bagged not bulk.  I have seen bulk nuts at Livingston ShopRite.  Costco has large bags and jars of nuts you describe.

How about Ward's coffee for pecans?

Thanks all. The vegetable market on route 10 next to Big Lots had big crates of them last year, now all they have are loose Chestnuts. I guess bagged nuts it is?

Westco nuts is where I go for raw peanuts for brittle.  The place is great, but it's a hole in the wall on the Newark/Irvington border.  I love it.

I've seen them at Route 10 for the past couple of weeks. Still working my way through my first batch.

Not a big selection though - just walnuts, filberts, almonds. No brazils or pecans.

Wonder if it was some sort of general nut calamity that cut supplies?

I went there this afternoon and picked up a pound of Brazil’s. $7 . Gentleman says it’s too early for the shell nuts to come in yet? Shoprite doesn’t even have bagged assorted ones yet. Manager says their waiting. Thanks for turning me on to Westco clearly a hole in the wall, but prices are good.

Unfortunately, The Fresh Market in Livingston is closed, but there's still one in Bedminster (also Montvale).  They carry bulk nuts, but you may wish to call in advance to see if they have what you are looking for, before making the drive:
