BLM gets another scalp

California police officer shot and killed outside police headquarters ‘was targeted,’ officials say

Even your subject line is racist.

Actually, this thread and the first post are "the tactic again".

Ta-Nehisi Coates won the National Book Award last night for "Between the World and Me."  I'm surprised you didn't start a thread blaming him for this.

But the ubiquity of the name itself — and the fact that anyone can use it — has caused complications. At some protests, for instance, marchers’ chants have called for violence against police officers. Critics, including several Republican presidential candidates, then equated Black Lives Matter to promoting attacks against the police.

“I don’t believe that that movement should be justified when they’re calling for the murder of police officers,” Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey said recently on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” He repeated the charge in the fourth Republican debate last week.

But leaders within the movement said that they reject violence and that anti-police chants are the acts of individuals, not the movement.

“It’s like saying, ‘Because the Ku Klux Klan calls themselves Christian, Christianity has a problem and needs to answer for the Ku Klux Klan,’ ” said Kenneth Murdock, who hosts a political radio show in St. Louis.

Holy crap. How drunk was Mark Berman when his picture was taken?

Again with this weak thread?

I think BLM got you shook. What you afraid of old man?

Police who are open targets and thus are unable to police.

My reading comprehension is often not good.  I saw the part in the article that said the police officer was targeted.   I did not see the part where the article said who targeted the officer.

What?

Cops are always open targets. It's part of the job. The vast majority of them aren't scared- not at all, that's why they're still cops.

Same question- what are you so scared of? What's BLM do to your insides? How'd they get in your head so completely?

Exactly. Or why he was targeted. While he may have been targeted for being a police officer, perhaps he was targeted for another reason.

And note this from the article:

"The number of officers killed by gunfire has fallen from last year." But that doesn't fit into ZZ's narrative, so no need to address it.

Wow. Two minority groups in one thread title. Cool.

Shhh...I think I just saw Joanne Chesimard. There, behind you...

Am I missing something, or did the WP article linked in the OP fail to mention why he was targeted, and by who?

BLM has made it open season on police officers. And black civilians no longer protected because police officers can not do their job. So BLM is fully responsible for hundreds of extra deaths this year.

Is it easy to take non-related items and bring yourself to believe they are related for the purposes of continuing this unfortunate 'scary' world view, or does this process take a lot of effort?

much easier than denying that blm actions that are causing additional deaths is not doing so.

BLM=Bureau of Land Management

But my man, there is no data, stats or anecdotal evidence showing that cops are in any more danger this year than they were last year- much less 'open season'.

So-

One mo agin'

Why does BLM shake you up so much?

Baltimore has reached 300 murders for the first time since 1979 all because of blm. That is a lot of death on its hands.

BLM =  Bramzzoinks Looney Man

Can we also attach cities where crime has dropped to BLM?   After all, you have demonstrated no link.

More directly, why are you so interested in maintaining a society where minorities are treated unevenly by police?

Bureau of Land Management?  cheese

The news story linked in the first post was updated last night.  If you click on it now it says -

A police officer in Los Angeles County was shot and killed in what authorities said Thursday was a robbery attempt.
While authorities initially said they believed he was targeted, police said later Thursday that it appeared the officer was killed in a botched robbery.
The officer, identified by officials as Ricardo Galvez, was in his car when multiple people approached and opened fire late Wednesday night, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
...
Saldana said Thursday morning that initial indications suggested Galvez “was targeted.” Later in the day, the police pivoted and said it now appeared the shooting was a robbery gone wrong and that the people who opened fire likely did not know Galvez — who was not in uniform — was an officer.
“There was nothing indicating that he was a police officer when he was shot,” Corina said, according to the Los Angeles Times. “I don’t think he even really saw these guys coming up on him.”
The people in custody told police they were intending to rob Galvez, Corina said.

Boy, I bet a lot of people who ranted that that this was the fault of Black Lives Matter must feel like jerks now.

I completed this book in 4 days. I was amazing. It's beautifully written to his son. It focuses on the fears he has for his son.

The OP won't retract his post or edit it to include what @nohero provided as truth. This is what myopic people do.

PREACH!

BLM is turning the streets into a permanent version of The Purge. Hope they are happy.

"The homicide rate in Baltimore began to skyrocket in May after a

period of civil unrest accompanying the death of Freddie Gray"

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/16/us/baltimore-homicide-total-surpasses-300-for-the-year.html?_r=0

"Jeffrey Ian Ross, a criminologist at the University of Baltimore, said the illegal drug trade and easy access to handguns was likely behind the upsurge in homicides.

"It could be new people coming into the game and an increased need to demonstrate authority inside a gang," he said.
Police said in June that gang turf fights fueled by drugs looted from pharmacies were a cause of the increase.
Baltimore is among a number of large U.S. cities with an upturn in homicides this year. They include Chicago, Washington, Milwaukee and Sacramento, California."
