Best place to buy meat alternatives?

We recently moved from Central NJ. We were disappointed to find that Whole Foods stores in this area do not carry a very wide variety of meat alternatives. Is there another store in the area that has a better selection?

Some of the products we can no longer buy, but still want:

- Ray's "wheat meat" brand seitan

- Beyond burger (not the frozen one, but the one that looks exactly like a hamburger)

- Sunneen Stedda Tuna

- Asmar vegetarian chicken salad

Shoprite in WO sells Morningstar brands, Boca Burgers and more. I usually find some good things in Trader Joe's, Tofurky's vegan sausage is good.

Whole Foods in WO has a few things.

We have a Veggie Heaven in Montclair if you are looking for a vegan restaurant.

Alternative meat?

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Trader Joe's so far is the best selection I've found. If there are others, please post. And to my knowledge, no selectios at Stop and Shop.

I managed to hold my tongue. cheese

We love Trader Joe's Quinoa- Black Bean burgers. Their Soy Chorizo, Beefless Ground beef and Meatless Meatballs are all good. They have many more products, but we are not vegan/vegetarian, so only use these meatless options because they are good, not because we need to.

My daughter is a vegan and I know it can be difficult, besides Whole Foods, I find things at Ashley Market, Trader Joes, Stop and Shop (both SO and the one on Vauxhall Rd) Shop Rite Good vegan restaurants Veggie Heaven, Positivitea and Mondo Vegan, I heard a vegan place is opening in Maplewood soon as well.
