At the Border

Give me your tired, your poor

Your huddled masses yearning to breath free

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore

Send these the homeless tempest tossed to me

We'll tear gas them when they reach our border

Speaking with Rep. Scott Peters, Democrat, San Diego area on this morning's broadcast.

Yes, he's a Dem, and yes it could surely have been worse than tear gas (and may be yet, ****).  What seems important to me is that the "vast majority" of the migrants, whom Peters describes as waiting patiently for their turn to be screened, are completely invisible/inaudible in most reports on the (created) situation in SD/Tijuana.

Seems to me the press have been remiss here for the most part, simply reporting the situation as the "emergency," "invasion"  promoted by the administration.

But maybe i'm not reading/listening enough.

We have got to get the economic refugee problem figured out and soon.  In coming years, global warming is going to create economic migrations to likes of which we can't really comprehend and I can imagine teenage dystopian worlds like that of the Hunger Games or  Divergent coming to pass.  We can certainly absorb a lot more migrants that we currently admit, but we can't absorb unlimited numbers.

After the Greek army made attempts at capturing Istanbul/Constantinople and failed because the Allies would no longer supply weapons and material,  the Turkish government ordered a major  removal of two or three million ethnic Greeks living in Turkey.........back to Greece.

The Greeks then ordered the same of Turks living in Greece to return to Turkey So anywhere between 4 and 6 million people were ordered to leave their homes and return to the land of their heritage.

This was about the time of or during World War 1.

Somehow it worked.

Disruption caused by global warming will make the displacement of 10 million people seem like a walk in the park.

Didn’t like a half million Greeks die at the hands of the Ottomans around that time?

 The Hellenic community thinks so.

It depends on to whom you talk.

The Turks are still denying the Armenian genocide occurred.
