Anyone’s recycling picked up today?

Our mail service sucks, we haven’t had a regular carrier since we moved in. But that’s the post office, the town can’t control what they do

I get it.

Actually, the local po po are pretty good--very responsive, as with the shooting two doors down a couple years back.

my biggest issue is now that i've got a giant pile of rotting trash behind my house and I pay for 1 can a week how much will get picked up when the trash people finally get around to ridding me of my waste?

On the bright side, with these temps it's frozen, not rotting.

Right, rotten but frozen, exactly like the service.

Got the call from WM at about 5:00 pm.  I didn't expect pick-up today but if they wait until Thursday, which I suspect is the case, that will be a week and a half between pick-ups and I pay for two cans, twice a week service.

I’m pretty sure they will take it all when they get there.

We've been happy with Waste Industries.  They were less costly when we first switched and when I have occasionally rechecked they were still either the same or less costly than WM.  We have one-can service twice weekly. I would switch it to once a week if they offered that, but they don't (at least as of the last time I checked.)

They do, however, offer pay-by-the-bag. We, too, had the one-can service, and the switch to bag tags has cut our costs by about a third. (From $82 quarterly to $47 quarterly plus an average of maybe $10 for tags, if that.)

Waste Management picked up today about 10 minutes ago. I had to go out to tell them we hadn't had trash collected since before Christmas. He said, "Yea the holidays interrupted the schedule." I walked back with him and he saw my trash and was like WTF? I said, "Yeah its been nearly a month since we had pickup." They took it all.

Our trash was picked up today too.  It was a pleasant surprise.  They came to my block at about 11:30 am.

Thanks, I didn't know that.  I will check into it.

You’re welcome. The hardest part, believe it or not, is getting the sticker’s ends to line up neatly when wrapping it around the neck of the tied bag.

You can't just tie a knot in the bag and then put the sticker flat on the plastic below the knot?

The instruction on the tag says to wrap it around the neck of the bag. I assume it's easier to read the UPC code -- maybe they tear the tag off first? -- that way.
