Angelo Vayas - RIP

So sorry. I hope the knowledge that he was so appreciated by the community he loved is a comfort to his family.

My wife and I heard this horrible news last night. When we moved here 20 yrs ago, being a typical Italian from the City I was in search of a Pizzeria and I hit Trattoria along with Roman Gourmet. Angelo would shoot the breeze with me about Sports and stuff when I came in. I really respected the fact that he was a kid from the City who started a very successfull business from the ground up, He was always working hard alongside his wife. (This was also prior to him opening his other businesses). Im happy I was able to see him a year or so ago when I went in to pick up take out where we spoke briefly since he was still recovering. What a great Guy, my condolences go out to his Family as I'm sure yours do as well.....Rest in Peace Angelo, JL

Trattoria was for years our favorite hangout with our kids, due to lovely and affordable hot food specials for the adults. I'm sorry for the many who knew Mr. Varas (we didn't, really) including their many employees present and past.

What a kind and generous man. No matter how busy Trattoria was, Angelo always welcomed you with a smile. And that is how I want to remember him.

Gone but never forgotten Angelo and my condolences goes out to his family.

we have had something of a family tradition of ordering takeout from Trattoria on Friday nights. Week after week, I'd stop in, and Angelo always had a warm greeting and a smile. My memory of him will always be with a big smile on his face.

This is terribly, terribly sad. His memory will surely be a blessing.

So sad to hear this. Angelo defined "good people." My prayers to all who loved him.

Angelo will not be forgotten with the positive attitudes and atmosphere he was . From when he first set up Trattoria to this last year in his abscence we saw it as such a pleasing place to visit . He made it warm and inviting and spread that feeling to all of the staff there .

They too were always happy ..how pleasant he was with everyone ..it was visiting him in his living room ...so touching that this is what will remain .

His sharing with all the groups that needed a boost was also memorable ..from the schools to the gardens to Senior groups ..it was always ...if you need more comeback ..what a totally comforting person who gave so naturally ..always with us ..he will be missed but never far removed from our hearts

Ditto about his staff. Incredibly competent and professional yet always friendly. They always seem to be happy to be working there. That says a lot about management.

I'm so sorry to read of his passing. My sympathy and condolences to his family. He will be greatly missed by so many. May he rest in peace.

RIP Angelo. Our street will never quite be the same without you. My deepest condolences to Mary and her sons.
