Garish House Construction

http://maplewoodian.com/The latest sewer line development.....Scroll down if you will

Why is the town footing the bill for sewer line extension for their development? i understand having to procure the easements, but for the construction itself?

Not really the latest. Mr. Strupp is catching up to Ms. Sechzer, who mentioned this here months ago, maybe earlier. From OliveBee in April:

Significantly, the mayor also stated that the sewer on Maplewood Avenue will not be repaired and will not therefore be paid for by the developer. huh? (The developer btw is also not paying for the bypass, which is essentially for his building - we are paying $60,000 for it...huh?)

Happy Birthday JMF Construction. We did not need those monies anyway

Are you saying the town shouldn't invest in the growth of the town? And why are you mentioning the tastefulness (with the word garish) if this is a thread about town money. Or is it?

He just changed the title of the thread, I guess to try to drum up more interest. I think he might be trying to make a hamfisted play on Clarus? Clarus/garish? I don't know. As with pretty much every author post, it's hard to understand what the heck is going on.

Let me make it easy for you. The good citizens of the Township are being screwed on this deal. As far as the title of the thread it does describe the building without going back to the more familiar " Kings Folly"

@author, how did you change the title? I tried on this format and didn't find the edit icon.

Morganna, went through the motions again of changing the Title without really meaning to. Did not work

maybe we are only allowed one change. I do get the edit icon because I ate a good breakfast

and thought good thoughts about everyone.

Ah there's where I went wrong. I knocked back a protein shake tossed in my coffee with a garnish of wicked thoughts.

There is still time

Story of how Maplewood Township is now picking up the tab for the new sewer line is no longer

easily available. Basically the Township is paying what is estimated to be $93.000 so the new residents of the

Clarus House will be able to safely flush their toilets. Construction continues behind the stores running

from Village Coffee to Baker Street

Does anybody know if the original sewer lines were inspected for possible historical significance. What I have heard is that the original lines represented the first use of cast iron sewer pipes in America and it would be a shame if they were dug up and discarded.

As far as I know that story is being squelched to spare us the embarrassment of revealing to the world that we pre-seasoned those cast iron sewer pipes with Canola instead of Virgin Organic or Old World Lamb Fat

It was the taxpayer who footed the bill for the approximately $93,000.00 cost of the operation

No lubrication was used

In regard to having any dealing with the Clarus building whose chief construction man,  Joe Forgione,  is a close personal friend of Kushner,   first son in law of the tramp,   read that as Trump.  "When you lie down with dogs,  you come up with fleas"

Not to get too deeply into this stuff, but Charles Kushner is a major Democratic supporter. That is likely part of the reason that Christie went after him so hard when CC was U.S. Attorney.

This only works if you are the one who started the thread:

1. Go to the All Discussions page.

2. Scroll down until you find the thread whose title you want to change

3.  If you created the thread, you should see a blue edit box in the lower left of the box containing the thread title.

4.  Click on the edit box.

5.  Change the text in the title field.

6. Save the change.

New title should appear in the All Discussions page.

Morganna............I did not change the thread title.  This is an older thread that dates back to Aug. of2016

I felt the other one was getting too crowded

We gave away the most important parcel in our town to the developer for a song.  The TC should be embarrassed at how lopsided the deal was.

It has been said many times before but where is the list of all the companies lining up to pay more? There is no indication that there were any. Now, if they had been allowed to put up a 10 story building I am sure Maplewood could have gotten more for the property. But given the limitations on size I do not see lots of offers beating down the doors.

The builder is filing a proposal to fill the Grand Canyon with condo units.  He has not determined the number as yet and may have a problem since the Colorado River runs through it............but what is a wet   basement among friends

It has long been my feeling that a builder will do just that,  anywhere he can get a variance    .  A buyer will be closely waiting to jump on the property.   And  somewhere close by there will be a realtor,   with a cup of  Starbucks product in hand  trying to get the listing.

First pricing listed above

$4500 for 1,400 sq ft?  Buy a house instead.

Obviously intended for Seniors and low income sector,  if they eat once a month
