Blessed Samhain everyone! Sadly, with the fire ban there'll be no bonfires to enjoy but it will still be a good night to feast and honor our ancestors. And, of course, sharing in the bounty of our harvest by handing out store-bought candy to strange children and dancing in the driveway to goth music until my wife calls me in for ice cream.
In other words, Thursday.
If we are honoring our ancestors, special mention goes to my recently discovered maternal great grandfather Wolf Cohen who fled a section of Russian annexed Eastern Europe. Might explain my fascination with The Wolfman and fits in nicely with my Sicilian great grandfather, where mythology suggests founders of Rome, Remus and Romulus were nursed by a wolf.
