Eastern Bergen...Eastern Essex...Eastern Passaic...Eastern Union...
Hudson...Western Bergen...Western Essex...Western Passaic...Western
Union.

An Ozone Action Day has been declared! Ozone is forecast to reach the unhealthy for sensitive groups category across New Jersey due to hot and humid conditions with adequate sunshine. Sensitive individuals including the very young, the elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the afternoon and early evening hours.

Thanks Max as always

If you do not have a special sensitivity, it's still a good idea to do strenuous activity. The benefit exceeds the damage that the pollution causes. Well, at least that's true here. I hear things are much more severe in some Asian cities and probably also on some other continents. I rode vigorously 13 miles to work this morning in the heat and all. I feel pretty good. I'm grateful for my health.

Technically, this does not apply to us, but the border between Eastern Essex and Western Essex is the Parkway in Irvington, so close enough:

From the NWS:

A Heat Advisory is in effect for Hudson, Eastern Essex and Eastern Union counties in NJ through 10 pm Tuesday. Heat index values will range from 95 to 100 degrees on Tuesday. Please remember to check on the elderly and those with heart and/or mental health conditions as they are most at risk. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, wear light clothing, use air conditioning, and do any exercise early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid heat related illnesses.

Also, there will be thunderstorms.  They could be scattered, which means that some places get them and others fairly nearby do not, so keep an eye out.  If one hits, there could be a fairly brief period of very intense rain and wind.

and we are back for day 3:
