A Way to Actually Make a Difference

This is a close Congressional Race in an adjacent District. Perhaps they need volunteers and/or money.

Well every non-billionaire candidate needs money nowadays.

Lost,

How would you fell about persons in a District, adjacent to ours, trying to influence our District's election results?

TomR

Thanks to Citizens United, influencing distant districts happens in every election.

NJ -7 (Millburn, Summit, Westfield) is also a close race to defeat an incumbent GOP Leonard Lance. Tom Malinowski has a chance to flip this seat,so if you are inclined, help him out too.

I would not like it, but I would like it a lot worse if another state (Russia, China, NK, or whoever) were trying to influence my election. And sadly, at this point in history, the best way to make sure that doesn't happen is to vote against any House Republican and probably against any Republican in any elected office.

(I know the question wasn't directed at me, but I could not resist)

If they were trying to keep a Trumkin out of it?  Pretty darn good.

Congresspeople may represent their district (in the case of Freylinhousen, he wouldn't even meet with the people of his district) but their decisions effect us all.  Today we have a political party in power that is actively trying to destroy our nation.

They must be stopped at all costs.

What is worse. Working to elect a representative in a neighboring district or the Koch brothers, Adelson and Mercers putting millions into those same districts?

I see no problem with that. People who do not live in a certain Congressional District have the right to contribute to a candidate in that District. They have the right to volunteer for a candidate's campaign.

How do you feel about a lobbyist who does not live in your Congressional District meeting with your Congressman?

A Congress person may represent a District but his/her votes effect the whole Country.

This issue was addressed by the great conservative Parliamentarian Edmund Burke.

You think it is improper for people, organizations and companies to donate to and advocate for candidates outside their district?

The Constitution says that Representatives represent their States. It says nothing about Districts.

 What are you implying?

Read about it in the NYT today. They sent me to NJ -7 (Millburn, Summit, Westfield) where Tom Malinowski (mentioned before in this thread) should beat Lance. He seems like a good guy too. Worthy of our donations and help.

Action Together New Jersey has quite a few actions and my friend told me about one that involves simply mailing a voter form with a personal note. I think I'm explaining it correctly, and I just signed up and will post when I get the details.

Apparently in NJ 7 a crazy number of voters skipped the election. I think they were referring to the last midterm election. I'll share as soon as I learn more. They are looking for people to go to or host Post It Parties. Might be fun to do at the Woodland.

Anyway, here's the link. https://www.facebook.com/ActionTogetherNJ/

New Jersey's 7th district is just around the corner, and it deserves to be flipped to Democrat. Tom Malinowski seems a good guy, check him out and send some money or support. Especially now that the Republican attack ads are starting to appear on TV.
