The red ones don't have anything to fear since their inhabitants know climate change isn't real.

How many coastal cities are red?

My money is on Mara Lago becoming an undersea attraction. Lindsey Graham will be the main character in a Pirates of the Caribbean, Davey Jones Locker revisit. Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia will be the new locations for Swept Away.

If you look at the election map for South Carolina, Lindsey Graham (residence in Seneca, SC) is about 250 miles from the ocean. The coast voted for Hilary, so he'd be happy to see them gone!
For Georgia, Savannah is the major coastal city. Blue!
Norfolk and most population centers on the Virginia coast went blue.
Houston and Corpus Christi TX went for Clinton.
Most major coastal cities are threatened and most tend toward liberal voting.

Yeah, I realized this after I started the thread.
That said, I do question whether much effort should be made to save Florida. So much of the state is low lying and subject to the constant threat of major hurricanes that the engineering is challenging to the point of futility. Add to that the fact that life there for most people is only possible through a reliance on fossil fuel driven AC and it seems to me that we might be better off triaging the whole state and spending our funds on more easily accomplished projects elsewhere.
Once the large population areas have sunk beneath the sea, the remaining bits of it would be very suitable for wildlife refuges.

You are right, they cheated to put W in office and now Trump

Maybe it's what's needed to turn things around. Millions of people flee submerged cities and resettle inland (Montana, Ohio, the newly temperate Dakotas), swinging those areas blue. A new Democratic majority takes power...

I’m pretty sure, the USA will dissolve by that point.

They also don't believe in socialism (government programs) so in their cases, let the market solve their problems.

And yet every time a storm wipes them out they all line up for a government hand out.
